The Winter Equinox / Solstice

June 18, 2015

If you live as I do in the Southern Hemisphere, the winter equinox is just a few days away .

 The winter equinox is a time of awakening to new goals and leaving old regrets behind. It is when the Sun is at its furthest north for the year. The day on which it falls is the shortest day of the year. Note though that the change in the length of daylight from day to day is initially only a few seconds and is not noticeable.

In 2015 the winter solstice falls on Monday 22nd June at 2.38am Brisbane time. This is such a lovely time where we can celebrate the birthing of new, which comes out of the fullness of the Darkness .

Hanging bells is a traditional custom at this time to bring in good luck. The colours of this season are red and green. A lesser known tradition is burning the Yule log. Magical symbols are carved into a log prior to setting it a blaze on the evening before the solstice. A piece of the Yule log can also be kept to protect the home throughout the year from negative energies and used to light next year’s log. If you can’t find a Yule log, find the biggest red candle you can get your hands on then carve symbols into its side. Symbols of what you would like to bring in to the new season ..may be hearts for love or peace signs or dollars  Surround it with green leaves , if you can find cedar and/or rosemary. Light the Yule or the candle on the evening of the solstice and let it burn all night long to ensure a prosperous year of warmth and light. This is a celebration of rebirth of the Sun.

As part of Sarah’s way therapy we celebrate these special times of the year .In this world we live in today it is important that we work with these energies, the universal energies. It is at these special times of change over that we can tune in and make the changes in our lives with much more power than at any other time.

We can work with these energies to empower our thoughts and desires and magnify what we would like to manifest in the coming months.  The energy that is present during this special time is VERY powerful.  This is a wonderful time that you can give thanks to mother earth for all she has given you in spring and summer and you can prepare for the coming winter.

Use this special power to delve within your subconscious to unearth your dreams and aspirations for the future.

As part of Sarah’s way therapy I have devised a ceremony that I have been using and sharing with others over the past years and the results are just amazing.  I want to share my findings and work with you so that you too can use this special energy to manifest all you desire in this life time.

During this time it is a celebration.  So, start today to prepare for the shift on Monday .

The winter equinox ceremony Sarah’s Way.

The preparation;

  • Decorate your house with hanging bells and red and green flowers, anyway you like. Carve symbols on a yule log or a big red candle like hearts, dollars, and children whatever you desire. Surround the candle with green leaves, cedar and/or rosemary.

  • Make a list of everything that you would like to manifest. Write as if you already have it. Be precise and be sure you want what you ask for.  Be excited, it’s like writing your very own early Christmas list to the universe.

At the top of your page write ;

 “I know that You hear me, and are here for me whenever I am in need, pray or call upon You, Divine God, Divine Goddess, Shekena, God The Father Almighty, Holy Ghost, Holy Spirit, Christed Beings, Buddhas, Angels, Elementals, Blessed Ones, Ancient Ones, Star People, Brotherhood of Light, Power Animals, Saints, Shaman, my own higher self and Spirits of the Land who have come in the Love of Buddha, and the Light of Maria and Christ.With your help and the power of this equinox I manifest the below if it be in divine order and to the highest good of all.

At the end of your list write,

 I thank all those who worked with me and the universe for letting me use this amazing equinox energy .So mote it be, So mote it be , So mote it be. So it is done.
